Coach Chang recently graduated from Wheaton College in 2008 after transferring in from Valley Forge Military College. He was born in New York but spent the later years of his life in Eastern Pennsylvania where he went to a public high school but left for Valley Forge Military Academy beginning his junior year. He first picked up a stick during his sophomore year in high school but then had a four year hiatus for military school and training. For the first time in a long time he played lacrosse again at VFMC as a midfielder and has not put down the stick since.
Edward Chang is currently a First Lieutenant and is serving in Afghanistan with the Illinois National Guard. He is the Security Force Platoon Leader (SECFOR PL) for a Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) in Khowst, Afghanistan. Coach Chang will be back for the 2010 season. He misses his lacrosse stick which Coach Weed still has at his house.
